Build to Grind. 139. 149. 159. 169. Keep it Classic.
Marc Johnson, Kenny Anderson, and Chris Roberts put together a hell of a cool company called “The Back Forty” and in doing so made quality goods. Want to get away from the norm? Try out The Back Forty, the best fitting tees in the game.
“KENNY, CHRIS AND I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS IDEA FOR AWHILE. BETWEEN TRAVELING AND FILMING AND LIFE, WE’VE MANAGED TO PUT TOGETHER A SOLID IDEA OF WHAT WE’RE GOING TO TRY AND ACCOMPLISH WITH THIS BRAND. WE’RE LOOKING AROUND AT SKATEBOARDING, AND ALONG WITH EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN GAINED BY ALL THE COMPANIES INVOLVED, WE’RE SEEING EVERYTHING THAT IT HAS LOST OVER THE YEARS. WE’VE SEEN LOTS OF THINGS COME AND GO, AND JUST BY BEING INVOLVED IN SKATEBOARDING FOR AS LONG AS WE HAVE, WE KNOW WHAT WE WANT TO GIVE BACK TO THIS THING WE ALL LOVE. HOPEFULLY WE CAN PUT BACK SOME OF THE GOOD STUFF WE WATCHED FADE AWAY THROUGHOUT THE YEARS FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER; SOME OF THE MAGIC THAT DEFINED WHAT SKATEBOARDING MEANS TO US. WE HOPE THAT YOU’LL STICK AROUND AND SEE WHAT WE HAVE IN MIND. AS THIS PROJECT GROWS, SO WILL OUR ABILITY TO SHINE A LIGHT WHERE WE FEEL IT’S NEEDED MOST. WE SIMPLY WANT TO GIVE BACK SOME OF WHAT WE FEEL HAS BEEN LOST. WE HOPE TO START A CONVERSATION, AND THAT YOU’LL JOIN US IN CREATING A NEW VOICE. WE’RE SKATEBOARDERS, BUILDING A PLACE OF OUR OWN. A PLACE WHERE WE BELONG. WE’RE BUILDING THE BACK FORTY.”
AND YOU’RE ALWAYS WELCOME AT OUR PLACE.
Appreciate the ones who laid the ground work and the style that set them apart from the rest. In Vista the first “street” 360 flip is claimed by Steve Ortega and the locals, in the LA area everyone knows it was Jason Lee who brought Rodney’s creation to the streets. There is only one Jason Lee. -ERL
